BOARD OF MISSION IN IRELAND
URBAN MISSION NETWORK
MISSION BY BEING GOOD NEIGHBOURS
Steve Timmis
Tuesday 13th March 2012 10am-1pm
RAVENHILL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, BELFAST
Although speaking primarily to the urban situation we recognise that this material has relevance to congregational mission in every setting.
All Ministers, elders and church members are invited to join the conversation.
EFFECTIVE URBAN MISSION REQUIRES THAT WE FIND WAYS TO BE PRO-ACTIVE IN MAKING CONNECTION WITH OUR NEIGHBOURHOODS
Steve Timmis is the Acts 29 Network Director for Western Europe and Director of the Porterbrook Network. He is the founder of the Crowded House. All three initiatives grapple with the issue of being effective as the Church in mission in contemporary society. Steve will be opening up a conversation around the content of his recently published book Everyday Church: Mission by being good neighbours (IVP). Together we will explore what the church as a ‘gospel neighbour’ looks like in various urban setting around Ireland today.
The gathering is free but please book by emailing the Board of Mission in Ireland at bmi@presbyterianireland.org by Thursday 8th March 2012 at the latest.
