Training of Evangelists

 
As followers of Jesus, we are all called to play our part in his mission to the world to make him known in every way, in every place.  There are many ways to contribute to the mission of God, but perhaps you sense that where you particularly fit is in sharing Christian faith with others in evangelism.

Perhaps you have experience in evangelism through the work of your congregation, with some other Christian agency or just have found yourself gossiping the gospel in your everyday life.  Maybe you sense God’s calling upon your life to further explore and develop an evangelistic gift that is beginning to emerge.  Alternatively, perhaps you are already an experienced evangelist who is finding that you need to sharpen your thinking about what it means to really engage with unbelievers today in our rapidly changing society.

The Board of Mission in Ireland are pleased to offer you an opportunity to do all of these things through their new Course for the Training of Evangelists.  The course will be held at Union Theological College over a period of ten weeks.  Meeting on Monday evenings throughout January and March, each session will last for two hours (7.30pm – 9.30pm) and will bring together a team of experienced teachers and practitioners to help us consider together what effective evangelism might look like in a range of settings across Ireland today.

New Community Evangelist Commissioned

Gareth Parker is the latest addition of community evangelists   funded by the  BMI Irish Mission Fund.

 

Gareth was commissioned as community evangelist     at an evening service in Ballyloughan  Presbyterian Church on Sunday  11 of September 2011. He will be working  with the Rev Darren Mc Corriston   the minster of the church

The Board of Mission in Ireland are pleased to offer their new Course for the Training of Evangelists

The course will be held at Union Theological College over a period of ten weeks from January to March 2012.

 

We will be bringing together a team of experienced teachers and practitioners to work through what effective evangelism might look like in a range of settings across Ireland today.

There are no academic entry requirements for the course and no formal accreditation at the end, however participants will be required to find a setting in which to outwork some aspect of their training, be helped to reflect on what they have learned and to explore potential avenues for future involvement in evangelism.   

 

 

Arklow Presbyterian Church Holiday Bible Club

 Upwards on 200 children have met each day from 1- August for the Annual Bible Club organised by Arklow Presbyterian Church. As the Church is being renovated the bible club was held in Saint Mary's Primary School.

Jesus is Alive

1 Corinthians 15:3, 4 & 14 NLT  Christ died for our sins, just as the scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, as the scriptures said.  If Christ was not raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your trust in God is useless

The Goodbook Company  and Christianity Explored have been working very hard the last few months on a new website for those investigating Christianity.
