HOME & IRISH MISSION
Irvinestown, Tempo and Pettigo Presbyterian Churches – Revd Charles Clements

Prayer and Praise for:

• Irvinestown started a Lunch Club last March and now has over 30 people coming for lunch each Friday from all sections of the community. Primarily this is to provide company, fellowship and food, and it has been a wonderful way to meet new people and to engage with our local community in a caring and hospitable way.
• We want to give thanks that the Lunch Club is proving to be so popular and pray that it will give us opportunities to share our faith.

Dun Laoghaire Presbyterian – Richie Cronin, Community Evangelist
Prayer and Praise for:

• We are starting a Christianity Explored course in the first week of March, please pray for this.
• Give thanks for a new home group we have started, mostly with people who came to our last Christianity Explored.

Adelaide Road, Dublin – David Boyd, Irish Mission Worker
Prayer and Praise for:
• Please pray for Meitheal, our gospel community, as we make plans for outreach to our local community.
• Give thanks for the willingness and enthusiasm of the members and pray that the Lord will continue to build them up and equip them for the task ahead.
• Please pray also for the people that we will come in contact with, that God will give them receptive hearts that are open to His gospel.
• Pray in particular for a recovering drug addict that I was talking to last week. I have talked with him a few times before, but last week there was a definite interest and he has begun to ask questions.

BMI Evangelist Course
Pray for:
• David Thompson and Robin Fairbairn who will be speaking at the Evangelist course on Monday 5 March.

Psalms Roadshow
Pray for:
• The BMI Worship Panel Psalms Roadshow that will take place in Strabane on Saturday 4 March.
• Karen Campbell, the Convener of the Worship Panel, as she leads the day.
• Esther Church and the musicians from High Kirk Presbyterian church in Ballymena.
• Philip Elliot who is leading the organist seminar.
• Brian McNarry as he conducts the seminar on leading a church band.
• Desi Maxwell who is the speaker at the Psalms service on Saturday night.

The Living Room Church Plant, North Belfast – Dario Leal
Praise and Prayer for:
• Give thanks for the parents who have attended the recent parenting course held in the local Primary School. The last session will take place on Thursday 1 March, when the issue of faith will be discussed.
• Pray for those who have asked for another course to be organised and run in the near future.

BMI Evenings
Pray for the Mission in Ireland Evenings to be held in:
• Coleraine and Limavady Presbytery on Sunday 4 March in Balteagh Presbyterian church. The speakers will be Billy Patterson and John McCandless.
• Newry Presbytery on Tuesday 6 March in Downshire Road Newry. The speakers will be Andy Carroll and Michael Sentance.

BOARD OF MISSION IN IRELAND

Sligo and Boyle Presbyterian Churches – Revd Alan Mitchell

Prayer and Praise for:

• Sunday 19 February was a very special and happy day in the life of Boyle congregation. We welcomed the second child of one of our newer families into the fellowship of the church at baptism. We were delighted to have family members from places as far away as Dublin and Athy.
• We rejoice in a local lady who works in Dublin and is now attending the service regularly.
• Pray that we will be Divinely guided as we prayerfully consider how to reorganise our ministry so that we can reach many more of Boyle’s residents from our church, which occupies a very prominent place in the centre of Boyle, opposite the Post Office and one of Boyle’s biggest chemist shops.
• At Sligo congregation we give thanks for last Sunday’s service when one of our teens led the Young People’s Praise at the piano, and for the enthusiasm among other teens to help in worship.
• During coming months most of our property around the church will be out of use due to refurbishment, so pray that we will be guided as to how we bring all ages together for worship as we only have space for the very young children.
• We rejoice in good attendances and last Sunday welcomed the father of two Malaysian girls that have been attending the church.

Cavanaleck and Aughentaine Presbyterian Churches – Revd Colin Dickson
Praise and Prayer for:

• Please remember the Fit4Life (5-week aerobic course) women’s event that we are running in Fivemiletown College starting Monday 27 February at 8.00 pm.
• Thank God that many come from the community to this free event; pray for the instructor and those who will share from God’s word each evening.
• We are running another Christians Against Poverty (CAP) money management course with upper sixth students in Fivemiletown College on 22 & 29 February, and 7 March as part of their personal development programme.
• Praise God for the wonderful opportunity we have been given and pray for the course leaders and students; that together they will learn not only about money matters but that the love of God matters to each one of them.

BMI Evangelist Course
Pray for:
• Pray for Billy Patterson, Dave Clawson and David Bruce speaking at the Evangelist Course on Monday 27 February.

Newcastle Presbyterian Church
Pray for:
• Continue to pray for the Alpha Course hosted by Newcastle Presbyterian Church on Tuesday nights.

Pray for:

• The vacant Home Mission congregations of Wexford and Enniscorthy who have been given leave to call on a seven year reviewable tenure.
• Pray that a person will know the call and leading of God to go and minister in this part of Ireland.
• Pray for Michael Anderson, who is the convener of the vacancy, as he seeks to lead the congregations as well as lead the work as the minister of Arklow congregation.

Downshire Road Presbyterian Church, Newry – Revd Brian Colvin
Praise and Prayer for:

• Downshire Road is commencing Christianity Explored from Thursday 16 February for members of our congregation. Give thanks that about thirty people will be taking part.
• Pray for elders as they lead discussion groups.

BMI Evangelist Course
Pray for:
• Pray for Lesley-Ann Wilson who will be speaking at the Evangelist Course on Monday 20 February on the use of story-telling.

BMI Urban Mission
Pray for:
• Pray for a meeting in Assembly Buildings on Thursday 23 February, as a group considers the future shape of urban mission within the Presbyterian church in Belfast.

Church Resources Exhibition, Ramada Hotel Belfast – 16 & 17 February
Pray for:
• David Thompson, BMI Development Officer, who is one of the seminar speakers at the Exhibition.
• Robin Fairbairn and Leslie Lynn who will be at the ReachOut/Keswick at Portstewart stand at the exhibition.

Cork Presbyterian Church - Revd John Faris and Harry Moreland

Prayer and praise for:

• Pray for John Faris who is off on sabbatical leave until mid-March researching how inner city churches do outreach from their buildings during the week.
• Harry Moreland is beginning an Evangelism Explosion course with ten people from Trinity Cork. Please give thanks for the level of interest in learning how to share faith more effectively.
• Pray for Harry and the participants in the intensive commitment of prayer and preparation for each session.

Deaconesses

Amanda Cooper – New Row, Coleraine
Praise and Prayer for:
• Praise God for every participant and volunteer engaged in our DivorceCare programme.
• Pray for God’s help, hope and healing to be poured out upon all involved.
• Please pray others will have the courage to join us and know only love, care and compassion in our midst.
• Ask God to give wisdom and sensitivity to all facilitators as they lead the small groups, especially given the host of emotions poured out during discussions.
• Ask God to guard the hearts and minds of our team.

BMI
Pray for:
• The BMI Communications Committee meeting on Thursday 9 February at 12.30pm.
• BMI Transformission network meeting in Ards Presbytery on Tuesday morning, 14 February.
• BMI Worship Panel meeting on Tuesday 14 February at Ballysillan Presbyterian church.
• BMI Evangelism Course on Monday 13 February, when various speakers will share with the participants different areas of outreach and mission.

Christianity Explored

Legacurry Presbyterian Church –

Praise and Prayer for:

• Give thanks for the youth, adult and senior Christianity Explored courses held at Legacurry in recent months.
• Pray for the plans to continue with a Discipleship Explored course.

Templepatrick Presbyterian Church

Praise for:
• Give thanks for the first night of Christianity Explored in the Templeton Hotel. Twenty-nine attended in total, including a team of eleven.

• Give thanks that the Ballymote cross-community Alpha Course is coming together, with all churches taking part.
• Please continue to pray that the Gospel will become the “talk of the town”.

Maynooth Community Church - Revd Keith McCrory
Praise and Prayer for:

• Thank God for the on-going work of Lorraine Neill with the youth in Maynooth.
• Pray for Lorraine, her team and the teenagers of MCC as they start planning for their annual arts festival in July.

Ballysally Presbyterian Church – Revd John Coulter
Pray for:
• John Coulter, the minister of Ballysally Presbyterian church, situated at the heart of Ballysally estate.
• The needs of the estate are being highlighted in a weekly BBC programme on Monday nights. Give thanks that the church and its community outreach work to the people of the area is well received.

Deaconesses
Praise and Prayer for:
• Congratulations to Julie Peake and her husband Stuart on the birth of their baby boy, Joel William, who was born on 11 January weighing 9lb 7oz. Give thanks that mother and baby are both doing well.
• Continue to pray for Tracey Nicholl who has been ill in recent months. She has been spending her Probationary Year in Ballywillan congregation and is keen to return to work.
• Pray for all Student Deaconesses who are now serving in congregations in their probationary year: Joanne McCourt in Hillhall, Eileen Black in First Cookstown, and Hazel Reid in Kells and Eskylane.

Christianity Explored
Pray for:
• Pray for the Christianity Explored Course being run in the Templeton Hotel Templepatrick by Templepatrick Presbyterian church.

BMI - Training of Evangelists Course
Pray for:
• David Thompson and Robin Fairbairn, and the participants at the Evangelists Course who will be looking at Evangelistic resources.
