The Big Lunch By Wilma Kenny
Most weeks, during term time, Christians host a lunch, a big lunch, a very big lunch. There are no invitations, no dress code and no belief boxes to be ticked. The numbers of people who attend vary from 500 – 700 students and young people from all different cultures and backgrounds.

On Tuesday 13 September around 85 people gathered in Mountpottinger Presbyterian Church in East Belfast for two training sessions on Christianity Explored with Craig Dyer Training Director with CE
Craig spoke about the changes that have been made to Christianity Explored. It is now a seven week course and has been completely re written and filmed. All the material is based on the gospel of Mark.

‘Over 7 weeks guests journey through the gospel of Mark exploring the identity, mission, and call of Jesus – who he is, why he came, and what it means to follow him. There is plenty of time to ask questions and discuss the claims of Jesus and the implications for our lives.’

In the second session Craig spoke on how to engage evangelistically with the local community
Gareth Parker is the latest addition of community evangelists funded by the BMI Irish Mission Fund.
Gareth was commissioned as community evangelist at an evening service in Ballyloughan Presbyterian Church on Sunday 11 of September 2011. He will be working with the Rev Darren Mc Corriston the minster of the church

Praise and prayer for:
Thank God for a packed and very fulfilling summer for our youth. They led us in an Arts Festival they hosted for the whole town based around the theme of loving your enemies; and then joined with the Coleraine church, Mount Sandel Christian Fellowship, to help them in their week of outreach called “Sandelfest”.
Pray that they would continue to grow into distinctively Christian, self-assured young people who can witness to Jesus with grace, wit and potency.
Please pray for the new sessions with our evangelistic course that we are running at the end of September. Already places are filling up, but pray that there is great rejoicing from conversations in the not-too-distant future!
South Belfast Outreach – Keith Preston & Michael Sentence
Pray for:
The mother of a young boy called Joshua has asked us to pray for him. He is addicted to cannabis and has sold everything he owns to fund his habit.
The Afghan family we had the privilege to get to know have gone to live in Birmingham. The mother wanted the family to be closer to a larger Afghan community; pray especially for the daughter Zahra, she came to Fitzroy the day before she left and was beginning to show signs of interest in Christianity.

Pray for our mums and tots group (Buddies and Bundles) which meets every Wednesday morning.
Pray for additional leaders for the group, that friendships will grow within the group and that those who do not have a church connection will be drawn into church.
Shore Street Presbyterian Church Donaghadee – Sonya McCullagh
Praise and Prayer for:
Praise God for a wonderful week at Avalanche Ranch Kids Club, the Saturday Fun Day, and the Sunday Celebration. We were encouraged by the response of the children and parents.
Please pray for children who asked Jesus into their lives during the week. I praise God for a wonderful team of Godly helpers.
