BOARD OF MISSION IN IRELAND

 

Sligo & Boyle Presbyterian Churches – Revd Alan Mitchell

Praise for:

We rejoice in good attendances during August, especially 7 and 28 August.

Our annual Summer Songs of Praise on the 7th led by Sligo Gospel Choir was broadcast on RTE Radio. Because the satellite could not be found we had to turn our rehearsal into the real thing to be recorded for broadcasting on the Sunday morning. The service in the church, without the restrictions of live broadcasting was a really joyous time of praise and worship with many present who do not normally worship with us.

Pray for:

Pray that the songs sung and the Word proclaimed will continue to speak to all who listened or attended. A CD of the service is available on request.

The weekend 27^th & 28^th was another uplifting weekend. Pastor and Mrs Park and their three children were our special guests at a special reception for our Koreans on 27^th. After food, fun and chat, Pastor Park conducted worship in Korean in the Church and then spoke in English on Sunday morning.

Pray for Pastor Park as he undertakes post graduate studies in Dublin and ministers to Koreans primarily in Dublin (Adelaide Road), and seeks to help Koreans in Sligo and Carlow and for us as we provide practical and spiritual care to care to those from Korea, and other far East countries who worship with us; some knowing nothing about Christianity.

Mullingar Presbyterian Church – Revd Stephen Lockington

 Praise and Prayer for:

Give thanks for the 260 children who came along to the Mission Rescue Summer Camp in July.

Pray for us as we move our Sunday venue from CBS to Educate Together National School. ETNS is across the road from where we hope to build the new church; plans for which are at the Planning Application stage with the County Council.

Cork Presbyterian Church – Revd John Faris

Praise for:

Praise God that a woman, contacted by leaflet drop for our Ian White concert in early July as part of our 150^th anniversary celebrations, has begun attending services with her sister.

Wexford & Enniscorthy Presbyterian Churches

Pray for:

Pray for these vacant congregations and the convener Revd Michael Anderson, who is the minister of Arklow Presbyterian Church.

Board of Mission in Ireland

Pray for:

Pray for the BMI Standing Committee and Communications Committee who will meet on Wednesday 8 September.

Nightlight

Pray for:

The Nightlight teams working in the Golden Mile (Linzie Cobain) and the Odyssey Arena (Brian Simons) areas of Belfast.

 

Special Events - YAC

Praise and Prayer for:

Praise God for ‘The Word’, the PCI event held for young adults at Castlewellan Castle from 26 – 28 August. This was a really excellent event and one that was enjoyed by all who attended.

Pray for the Working Group as they review the event and make plans for the future.
